Dr. Paul Kurdyak is a psychiatrist and Chair of the Medical Advisory Committee at CAMH. He is also a Core Senior Scientist and Lead of the Mental Health and Addiction Program at ICES. He holds the position of Vice President (Clinical), Mental Health and Addictions at Ontario Health. He is Professor and Chair, Addictions and Mental Health Policy Research in the Department of Psychiatry and Institute for Health Policy, Management and Evaluation at the University of Toronto.
Dr. Paul Kurdyak is a senior scientist with the Institute for Mental Health Policy Research (IMHPR) and the General Adult Psychiatry and Health Systems Division, director of health outcomes and performance evaluation in IMHPR and medical director of performance improvement at the Centre of Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH). He is also lead of the Mental Health and Addictions Research Program at the Institute for Clinical Evaluative Sciences (ICES).
Areas of Research
Dr. Kurdyak studies clinical epidemiology and health service utilization. His work provides better understanding for the determinants of and barriers to treatment for mental illnesses; explores the relationship and interaction between chronic medical and mental illnesses; and develops methodology expertise in observational research design as it relates to the study of mental health epidemiology.
